Developing new therapies to treat rare diseases is an important goal for biotech companies globally. To communicate their treatment approach to health care professionals, they often need to describe the underlying pathophysiology in detail.

The agency of record of a globally operating biotech company asked us to produce a high-quality 3D animation film that would create a clearer understanding of the underlying disease. We began by discussing the interfaces, areas of responsibility and communication channels between client, agency and ourselves as the third party. Then, we agreed on the following workflow:
