A pharmaceutical product travels a long way from the first idea to the final medication

… and a lot of people are involved throughout the process in research and development, manufacturing, clinical trials, and marketing. As experts in their fields, they all have very specific approaches to the product at different points during its journey towards the patient.

But how can you bring this highly sophisticated
knowledge in one place?

Our challenge was finding a new way to process this mass of information for many different target audiences. We wanted a training solution that initiates exciting discussions between researchers and managers and, even more importantly, between sales representatives and physicians.

After studying a huge number of reports, reviewing scientific publications, and interviewing experts, we at CAST PHARMA developed a new and exciting variation of VISUAL STORYTELLING that unites all the product-related information on one innovative, highly interactive platform – the iPad.

We called this interactive video-based training tool
“Journey of the Toxin”

“Journey of the Toxin” demonstrates the entire state-of-the-art manufacturing and purification process unique to the final medication as well as the mechanism of action of the substance at the motor endplate. In this digital training tool, the journey starts with a short film that combines real-life footage, photographs, and high-quality 3D animations. The film pauses after each step of the journey; the user can then choose either to continue or to analyze the molecules more closely or access further details such as study data. In this way, the user can intuitively explore the path of the drug step by step from the bacterium to the vial, from the syringe to the synapse!

The result was a teaching tool that cleverly utilizes fun to bring memorable, well-structured scientific information to its users.
